The Reverend Billy is (pretty much) on the Ballot for Mayor of NYC!

Jonny Diamond of The L Magazine writes:

Well I'll be damned, the Reverend Billy is on the ballot (pending certification... but he should be fine with over 18,000 signatures). The world's favorite anti-consumer preacher is set to officially jump into the grueling race for mayor of New York City, and I for one couldn't be happier. While his performative charisma and unparalleled stage presence have lead some to think of his as a stunt candidacy, his actual platform, which focuses on the idea of the city as the sum of its local neighborhoods, highlighting the need for local economies, livable environments, and urban policy that considers the people's needs over developers, is pretty compelling. Some of that may sound vague in summary, but Billy's site does a great job breaking it down. SO YOU SHOULD CHECK IT OUT AND ACTUALLY VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHO'S IDEAS YOU SHARE.
